Indiana Jones

Being in the family i am.. i am very well aware of the classic movies. Star Wars, Space Balls, Sixteen Candles, and of course the Indiana Jones trilogy. So when i heard there was going to be another adventure with the very attractive, very masculine, Indy, i was all for it!

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Action/Adventure
124 Mins
May 22, 2008
PG 13 for minor violence, crude jokes (only a few)
Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blancett
Director: Steven Spielberg

I really enjoyed this movie. It's just another Indiana movie. The jokes were clever the story was pretty decent. Far-fetched but yet.. what Indiana Jones story isn't far-fetched?? I am a big Shia LaBleouf fan especially after this movie, he plays Mutt perfectly! I enjoyed that Indy was older in this movie and it was supposed to be harder for him to do things. I know a lot of people didn't like it but i think it's because they had too high of expectations. Like i said, it was another Indy movie. It was had refreshing humor and classic fight scenes. It's good to know Indy can still take blows and give em back at his old age! Great! loved it! I'd give it 3 and half waffles but since i still can't find an icon that's half a waffle.. I'll give it 4 outta 5 waffles!

Birth Control

I come from a big family. There are 7 of us kids. I have 3 older brothers and 3 older sister. Yes i am the baby and i love it.. most of the time! All of my brothers and sisters are married and everyone of them have kids (have i mentioned i think I'm the smartest one in my family). Total I have 19 nieces and nephews and 2 on the way!

With it being memorial weekend, the whole crew is here except my oldest sister and her 4 kids. Brady asked me if i would babysit Hyrum

tonight so he and his wife Wendy could go on a date and see Indiana Jones. I said sure!! No problem. Then i asked my sister Kaylene if she and he husband wanted to go also and I'd watch Mikey.

So the 4 of them left on their date and i had Mikey and Hyrum. My sister Klarice was here also with her 4 kids and then Michelle and Kellie were with us cuz their parents are in Boise. I had a great time with all those little kids. We had totinos pizza for dinner (healthy), then i made some chocolate pudding for dessert. Mikey and Hyrum had a great time chasing the dogs and playing with blocks.

With that being said, as much fun as i had I'm SO GRATEFUL that I'm not tied down to a husband or any kids. I love that i get to play with them get the all hyper and full of sugar and then get to send them home and sleep through the night.. They are the best birth control I've ever had!!!

Are you Kidding Me??

I cannot believe this and i have to share it!!! I was working for Adam today and so i was working on a patients feet. and she was reading a magazine trying to get her mind of the pain. (Adam made me do it). i don't know what magazine she was looking through but she started telling me about a tent camping adventure she was reading about..

First of all i love camping. I love to get dirty and not showering for days. I love fishing and i love cleaning the fish even more. I love falling a sleep to the singing of the creek right by my tent. I love sleeping on the hard ground because my air mattress decided to deflate in the middle of the night. I love waking up at 3 in the morning cuz i have to pee so bad and stepping out of my tent and seeing the stars. More stars than I've ever thought possible. I love it all.. the good and the bad. It makes the whole experience amazing!

So there is this.. I'm not sure if you'd call it a camp site or a resort, cuz it's kind of both. But you park at the bottom of a "mountain" and start hiking up this trail where a butler meets you half way with hot cookies and fruit and then he/she carries the your luggage to the tent. They have a lodge where you can get shower and go to the bathroom.. actual running water. Are you kidding me? You can also head into the lodge in the middle of the day to get out of the heat or at night when it's cold you can sit by the fireplace to keep warm.. i say again are you kidding me? The REAL bed in your tent is turned down every night and made every morning. SERIOUSLY?? To stay in this LUXURIOUS tent is around $600/ night and you have to agree to staying at least 4 nights. I bet they make a killing off these rich city slickers who want to experience camping with out all the fun, without roughing. This is not camping. Who pays $600 a night to rough it?? This is not roughing it.. Are you kidding? seriously?? Anyone who thinks this is roughing needs to spend a week with my crew camping.. I'll show you roughing it... and we have it easy!!!

The Host

First of all i would like to apologize that my last blog and this one are about books.. Guys.. really I'm not a reader.. I promise. I went to Seagull book last Saturday knowing that the new Stephenie Meyer book came out. She's the same author of the Twilight series mentioned in my previous blog. I looked at her book while i was shopping for my grandma for mothers day. I put it down and stared at it for a few minutes and then picked it back up and read what it was about again. I put it back down and stared at it and thought, It sounds weird, but it's by Stephenie Meyer so it has to be good. I don't know should i buy it? I'm not sure. (HA if you've read The Host.. m thoughts in italics.. funny!!!) Needless to say i bought it. I loved it. It can't be compared to Twilight, it's a completely different story. I love the ways Stephenie writes. She's so descriptive and i love it. I feel like I'm really there!! The first 3 or 4 chapters were strange and it took me a bit to really catch what was going on, but i really enjoyed it.. especially the last 200-150 pages.. I loved it and think everyone should read it!!!

An Obsession

Last Summer my oldest sister Jana gave a book and said,
"Hey Am, this is a really good book. I think you'll like it."
She handed me the book and i looked over the cover.

It looked interesting enough. I flipped open the first few pages and it read.

"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." -Genesis 2:17

I thought to myself.. huh.. a book of forbidden fruits.. or forbidden something and someone eating of the forbidden fruit.. breaking the rules.. Sounds like my kind of book. So i asked my sister what the book was about. It's set in modern day and a girl falls in love with vampire.. my first thought, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? SERIOUSLY?? How gay is that! But i told her I'd give it a try. That night i laid in bed and read the first chapter.. eh.. it was OK so i read another, it was getting better, by chapter 3 I was really starting to get into it.. so i read to chapter 8 and at that point i was so intrigued i had to know what was going to happen. i read half the book that night and didn't sleep so well because all i could think about was Bella and Edward, and him wanting to eat her but being in love with her, and nobody knowing what he was, and why did he choose Bella and what made her so beautiful and Edward must be hot. I went up stairs the next morning and told my sister that i revoked her right to give me anymore books. It was then that she informed me that it's a four book series and the 2nd book was out but the 3rd one didn't come out until July. I almost choked her. So after Twilight there is New Moon

again.. addicted. i read the first 3 or four chapters then skip to chapter 17 (I think.. that chapter titled Paris). I would call New Moon "Jacobs book" and I'm not a Jacob fan I'm

all the way..

Then there is

Eclipse, the book where Bella is whinny and a brat and i want to hit her.. But we get to know
Alice and she is my favorite character. The 4th book

Breaking Dawn (the cover of this book with be released the summer) is set to come out Aug. 02, 2008. Yes i will be standing on some line for the release of it.. What part of obsession did you not get..

So because i these books i am obsessed. I think about Edward and Bella and their forbidden love daily. Sometimes in the middle of a massage my mind wonders to them and their story. Because of these books i love the little icons or quotes that say:

This one is my favorite.. So funny!!!

Anyways the point to this whole blog is that they are currently filming a movie for the first book Twilight. I have kept up and watched very closely the cast of this movie. I mean.. the movie is NEVER as good as the book but there is always a glimmer of hope that it will at least be decent. I have been nervous about the character who plays Edward because he's British. In the book he is described as beautiful, gorgeous, staggering, Greek God-like, and my favorite, dazzling. I mean no offense of but this dude is not staggering. Bella isn't quite what she looks like in my head but i can deal. Overall I've been trying to be very disappointed in the movie even though it hasn't come out yet. I figured if i go in already disappointed then, i actually might like the movie when i see it. Unfortunately the first movie trailer came out today, or at least i saw it today and dang it.. my hopes are up. CHECK IT OUT! OMGOSH!! Now all i can think about is twilight. I've watched this trailer like 10 times. i can't wait.. So for all you Twilight fans.. I hope you are as excited for this movie to come out as i am. And if you aren't a Twilight fan, the fact that i LOVE a story about girl who falls in love with a vampire is just absurd so that should go to show how AMAZING the book is. Watching the trailer and writing this blog has made me so excited I'm picking up the book and reading it AGAIN for the 12 time!! LOVE IT!

P.S. Here is the movie poster! Not sure my feelings on it yet!!!

MOMMY UPDATE

My mom is good... There have been a few setbacks this last week but she is doing much better!!! She is up and walking about 50 feet twice a day.. Her spirits are good but she also realizes the hard work that is ahead of her. They found a clot that is about 3 feet long... I know.. didn't know that was really possible. They have her on blood thinners and all that fun stuff. She does physical therapy 2 times a day and same with occupational therapy. She also does speech therapy. She had a lot of visitors which is good. It keeps her talking and looking to the left!!! The family is good. It's been quite the reality check for a lot of us. It's defiantly reminded me that i'm not invincible, i am human and crap happens. You never think it's gonna happen to you or your family but none of us is an exception to the rule.. anything can happen!! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers they've helped so much!!
